Inlays and Onlays Near You
When your teeth are damaged from tooth decay, breaks, or fractures, you want a strong, durable, and natural looking solution. For weakened teeth that dental fillings can’t fix, our dentists might recommend an inlay or onlay, depending on where the damage is on the tooth. Both options provide durable, natural looking restorations for weakened teeth.
What Is an Inlay and Onlay?
Both inlays and onlays fill large spaces in a tooth with durable, custom-made composite pieces. An inlay is made to fill a gap inside the middle of a tooth, while an onlay is made to cover the surface area or biting surface of the tooth. Both types are custom-made in a dental lab to fit your individual tooth.
What to Expect from an Inlay/Onlay Procedure
Inlays and onlays require a minimum of two appointments. During the first visit our dentists will prepare your teeth and measure the area. Both inlays and onlays are prepared in a dental lab, custom-fitted to your tooth. During the second visit, the inlay or onlay will be attached to your tooth and adjusted for the best comfort.
